Ilfracombe Art and Craft Society is located along the Promenade dedicated to the present and promotion of local art and craft work of the Ilfracombe. Founded by a small group of artists in the late 1960s which joined together with a desire to promote and encourage painting and craft skills in North Devon. Today local people and visitors to Ilfracombe can enjoy a relaxing visit to our modern spacious art & craft centre.

Verity

Damien Hirst’s creative style is a gamble, but not with Verity, an amazing work of art made from stainless steel and bronze with a length of 66 foot. This work of art of demi-flayed pregnant women standing on books and holding a sword in a loft in Ilfracombe was loaned to the city for 20 years. Hirst describes his work as a ‘modern allegory of truth and justice ’, some people like it, some hate it – visit it and build your own opinion.

Ilfracombe Aquarium

Ilfracombe Aquarium is an exciting and award-winning attraction that provides an extraordinary experience into the watery world of North Devon. Is the largest harbour on North Devon and has been a port since at least the 12th Century. From this harbour you can take trips to almost anywhere in the region, like coastal cruises, a trip to Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, Lundy Island, and much more. The Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway

This famous Cliff Railway is the highest and the steepest water powered railway in the world. Opened in 1890 a multi-award winning railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth.
